So, this is about the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender Movie http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0938283/. So it turns out that they made all the leading role characters Caucasian. As a result, since the lead roles are all Caucasian, all people related to the lead roles are therefore caucasian. Now this is annoying. Dragonball was a failure, Forbidden kingdom was plain annoying, etc. Now, to make matters worse The evil genocidal Fire nation is cast as all asian, middle eastern, etc. Wow... now thats racism if i ever saw it. I'm pissed off that this is allowed to happen and so little people care. You know there are MILLIONS of Asian American Actors in the US. You're telling me that they couldn't find a few to be the lead roles? Yea... i think thats bull too.
Those of you who have watched the show know that the martial arts are based off of real martial arts that was taught to the creators and animators by a master of kung fu. The producers of the movie refuse to work with him. This means that Asian parts are acted by Caucasian actors, and taught the moves by people who do not really know kung fu. Yeah... sounds like a great plan.
I know that the show was for kids and the movie is most likely aim at the same demographic. However, this show had a compelling story and it was entertaining for all ages. I know I'm not the only one that feels this way. There is a group that is protesting this here:

I urge people to boycott this movie. I'm tired of the caucasian actors taking parts that SHOULD be played by the many asian american actors in the US.
Seriously this goes beyond this one movie. Its about the racism that Hollywood thinks it can get away with because no one has said anything. Whether you agree with me or not, its clear that the number of Asian Actors in American culture is severely lacking and I would hope you could take time out and comment or show other people the site, this note, or anything else relating to it.

No Seriously, take a look around. Look at the people around you. Look at your friends. Look at your family. Look at your enemies. Look at yourself. Are we really all that different? Or maybe its the absence of difference that we make these divisions between ourselves.
The other day, I saw an envelope at my parents house. It was from a republican commitee and it stated "Come take back our country." I started to get angry. Take back our country? From who? The democrats? I hadnt realized that the country was LOST. Now don't misunderstand me. I would have had the same reaction had it been a letter from a democratic commitee. Are democrats and republicans REALLY that different? Yes, there are differing views about how this country should be run, and there are disagreements on certain issues. However, have you ever really looked at the individuals? Is there REALLY a democrat or republican that REALLY agrees with everything that their party says? I'm not sure there is and if there IS then they are in the minority. I will state this right now, I am a moderate with no party affiliation. Why? because determinine a specific affiliation is SILLY. If one party has legitimately better standings why not vote for them? If one party seems a better fit? Shouldnt you feel free to vote for that party and feel pressured to vote for the party line?
Now I started talking about politics because THAT is what seems to be the big issue and what seems to be in the air the most currently. However, you can apply these questions and thoughts to nearly EVERYTHING that we use to segregate ourselves. Race, Religion, Income, Friends, Activities, hell we even segregate ourselves through VIDEOGAMES. What is wrong with us? Do we really need to find these tiny little differences between ourselves? We are all living breathing human beings are we not? Do we not all deserve the chance for RESPECT?
Another issue that I have observed is the "battle" that goes on between specific intrest groups and the christian community? Why must we attack each other? I am a firm believer in Christianity. That is a part of WHO I AM. Yes we believe in creationism, to varying degrees I must admit. Must we be attacked for our beliefs? Me, personally, I DO believe in evolution, with intelligent guidance. So I guess i fall down the middle in that aspect. However, I do NOT attack others for what they believe in. Is that WRONG? Is it WRONG to respect another person's FAITH? Oh and hardcore no faith scientists that would attack me for having FAITH, do you not have FAITH that your data is correct? do you not have FAITH that research conducted measures and correctly predicts your hypothesis? Yeah. thats what I thought. I could go on but I'll stop there with that subject.
Now race, we ALL know what segragation of races causes. I feel like there is very little I can say about that but I will make a few comments. Look people, when something states that there will be EQUALITY, that means that they are meant to be EQUAL. I understand that the "WHITE MAN" caused the rest of us some trouble, and YEA there ARE some of them that still feel that way, but you know? I know a hell of alot of white people, and a good 99.999999% of them are cool, so cut them some slack alright? Also, the ones that are all "whites are better"? Stop being so damn ignorant. The CHINESE by themselves out number you 10 to 1. You really wanna piss all of us off? Yeah. Thats what I thought.
Alright about activities. Haha, well this has started from Early high school if not late middle school. Alright, look, the "Cool, In-crowd". You are NOT all that special and you are NOT that much better off. Think about it you vain people. How many friends do you have that you can REALLY trust? How many hours a day do you spend trying to keep up the "I'm Cool" persona? How many days have you stressed because if you said the wrong thing, did the wrong thing, hung out with the wrong people, or even DRESSED the wrong way you would be cast out of the "In crowd"? It's alot of work isn't it? YEAH. You know how I know? Because I tried SO damn hard to be cool for so much of my life. I did EVERYTHING I could to try to get into the "in crowd". You know what? Not worth it. Thank God that a majority of us grow out of that. (this one was mostly for the youngsters). On the same note. People that call out for attention by sharing all their downcast attitudes just for pity popularity? I HAVE NO PITY FOR YOU. Guess what? We all know that you're faking. Get over it. Trying being a human being. I'm not saying that I will try to change you. I'm just saying that things can be better.
Also, incase no one has noticed? First impressions mean next to nothing. Thats right, nada, zilch, NOTHING. Think about it. When has someone you thought would be AWESOME turn out exactly the way you thought they would be? Very rarely in my case. It is completely true for the opposite end of the spectrum. So, TRY not to give the first impressions all the credit. I know it's human nature but come on. Everyone has good and bad days.
Alright now I'm going to take the chance to talk to my fellow christians out there. Now I know/hope that my Christian friends are not like this but there are many out there that are. Alright, I just want to point out that God does not want us to attack people. I really dont think that he meant for us to be warring followers that BLAST clear all the "nondesireables". This includes ALL of those people that Christians have been stereotyped to fight against. There are too many to name, but I think we all know the groups I am talking about. YES EVEN THAT ONE THAT YOURE THINKING OF RIGHT NOW!!! YUP THAT ONE TOO. Look, we are suppose be Christians. Whatever happened to love thy neighbor? What happend to Turn the other cheek? What happened to HUMBLE thyself? I also want to comment on evangelism. I know that it is our creed to bring others to Christ. But I feel that going up to random strangers and just RANDOMLY talking to them MIGHT work on the rare occasion but overall very ineffective. Especially in this world today where so many people have so many negative feelings about Christianity. Mostly from the afforementioned wars that we fight. I feel that one must first exemplify their christianity by example. Through your life one should be able to see that you are Christian. Please just think about this. Thank you.
Now I did not write this note to shove my beliefs and faith down your collective throats. There are most likely several spelling and grammatical errors. I know that I am not perfect and infact are probably guilty of many of these things myself. However, I felt like I needed to share this because of my daily observations. The daily hate and ridicule that I see EVERYDAY because someone or some group is DIFFERENT. Just think, ARE we really that different? I am not saying accept every little thing that gets thrown at us. I am not saying let all the Murderers and Criminals free. I am DEFINITELY saying that any of you are necessarily wrong. All I am saying is MAYBE we aren't all as separated as we think. MAYBE we are more alike than any of us want to believe. MAYBE we can become more friendly little by little. That is all I am saying.

What motivates us all? What is it that makes pushes to do a certain action and not do another? Some may say that there is no one factor that motivates people into doing the actions that they do. They may be right and human actions maybe too wide and general a subject to define, but observation and self testing point to a conclusion. It's Fear. People are motivated by fear in ever aspect of every situation of everyday.
Fear, in a more general sense than a person fearing spiders or fear expressed in a horror movie, seems to be something that everyone on this planet feels everyday in varying degrees even if they might know it is fear. Lets take into account a boy born in a middle class family, with an average life where all his base needs are taken care of. If he has a relatively easy life, common to many boys he will grow up become a man that should enter into society as a regular contributor. Now what motivates that man to go to college (if he does), get a job, marry (if he does), have a family? In a sense it is all fear. Fear of not being able to support himself in the manner that he is use to makes him want to get a job. Fear of not being able to get a job that is sufficient to supporting him, motivates him to go to school. Fear of loneliness, or fear of missing out, or any number of fears motivates him to have a family. Now after he has gone to school, gotten a job, had a family, etc. what motivates him then? Still it is fear. He will continue to work at his job even in the situation that he dislikes his job he will continue to work there for fear of once again not being able to support himself and now his family. Why does he not quit? For fear of not being able to find another job or for any number of other fears. What if this man becomes rich and has no more needs that can not be easily fulfilled? What motivates him then? Still it is fear. In one case it may be Fear of losing it all. In another case it may be fear of betrayal from his family or friends or employees. Fear is still there despite all efforts and will continue.
Now, some may say this applies to those of material wealth. What of the situation of the less well off? Possibly the poorer one is the less fear they will have? This is ridiculous. Being poor only puts you in to situation of fear of needs that can not be fulfilled.
What if people that life outside of material needs all together? Someone who lives off the wilderness perhaps. Someone who hunts and crafts all he needs. He still has fear. Fear of sickness, fear of hunger, fear of the wrong season. Possibly be cause he is living the way he is, fear of people or technology, or fear of where he came from.
Then there are those who live in society that abstain from normal life in lieu of spiritual life. They also have fear. They have more fear than the others i believe. They fear for an eternity of torment or an eternity of meaningless repetition or just plain Judgement and punishment of an angry god.
Fear drives us all in every aspect. Why do we have friends? because we are afraid to be alone. Why do some decide not to have friends? because whatever fears they have override fears of being alone. Why do we play? for fear of boredom of monotony or to escape the world that they fear. Why do we work? for fear of falling from society for fear of punishment, for fear of loss. WHY DO WE LIVE even if one has the knowledge of a futile life?
Fear is all around us fear is so much a part of our lives that we live with it day to day without a second thought. In fact those that are portrayed WITHOUT fear are shown as either Heroes or Villains. Dare Devil a comic book superhero that supposedly is the man without fear. Green Lantern, another superhero that is said to be truly fearless. Scarecrow, a super villain that is suppose to have no fear and uses it to afflict others. There is even an entire GENRE of media dedicated to fear, Horror.
So much Fear of so many things surrounds everyone many many say that they have no fear. That fear does not drive them. Well, ultimately we all have at least ONE fear. This fear is some thing that we all have because it is ingrained in us from Thousands of generations. Fear of death. Our Survival instinct without which our race, in fact ALL living things might not exist now is based on fear.
So much fear of the world, fear of living things, fear of death things, even fear of ourselves. We are ruled by fear, and despite all efforts fear will still be there.

This is to everyone who knows me, no matter how little or how much.
The Jason Lee you knew is gone.
I do not yet know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. In the past I have been stepped on, ignored, belittled, and disrespected. Never again. I have found a new level of conviction. It's taken me my entire life to realize this, but This Is My Life and from now on, all matters regarding me will be determined by me. Whether it is as simple as making a decision or having to fight for what I want, I will finally have control. I'm through with trying to make everyone happy. I'm through with be used, being manipulated, and being overall unhappy because my happiness was based on the happiness of others. To those who do not like it, I say, Fuck You. You were never my friend anyway.
Whether this is good or bad, I am glad this happened to me, I am only sorry it took this long.
